Magic the Gathering Intelligence – Beta 0.9

Its been three months since I've launched the beta version of MtG Intelligence, and even the beta had very good feedback. But it was a beta still.
For now, and with this version, the site got a facelift. It has a little more color, and a more refined interface. The menu, which was too small, and almost forgotten in a corner, got the proper respect. But there is more than design.
One of the things it lacked, and perhaps the most asked for, was the question of the archetypes. Magic players like cataloging things, and they like giving a label to a deck to know what they're talking about. The players know that a similar group of cards are with one given archetype, and this group will evolve over time. And most of the immediate use of the statistical data is based on that premise.
For example, if a player sees a list of the most used cards in a time frame the first thing he thinks is which decks are using them. More, I think that if a player must choose only one between the stats of the most used cards, or must used decks, the great majority would choose the second one. And now MtG Intelligence has both.
In the archetypes you have, for now, the stats of the top archetypes used on top performances in Magic Online. Inside each one of them you'll see the most used cards on that particular archetype. Both these data are of the last month, and have a stat on each item relative on the variation of that data between the actual time frame and the last one.
In the near future, maybe in the next couple of days, you'll have it not only for the month time frame but for the week too. With it you'll get a textbox where you can suggest a name for the archetype. This is the only part that will require human input, because the system is smart at some degree, but creativity is for the humans still.
These and a couple of new features will mark the end of the beta stages. I thought that with tonights upgrade, with new design and archetypes, it could be the end of the beta, but in truth there are a little more things to finalize before it could be done. I could have postponed the release of this version a couple of days, our even a week, but to be honest, I think that a lot of the current regular visitors deserve to have more and better data to work with.
